In the Indian ink or pencil drawings, whether produced before or after the work itself, I study another aspect of the idea and this opens the way for other, different compositions. I believe that black & white constitutes the end and not just the beginning. It is not just something without colour; and it is difficult because you have fewer means to express yourself. You must have mastered colour before you can render it in black and white. You seek to express light. |
